Ain Dubai Reopens – Experience Dubai’s Iconic Views Again

9 min read

Dubai’s structural wonders and architectural masterpieces have been built to “wow” and also cause “jaws to drop” when you stand before them. The city ranks as one of the top tourist destinations in the Middle East and globally because of its commitment to building jaw-dropping and mesmerizing infrastructure equipped with cutting-edge technologies.

Ain Dubai, also referred to as the “Dubai Eye,” is yet another of the city’s great attractions standing at a staggering 250m high – that’s equivalent to a 78-storey building! The sheer size of it is impressive. Ain Dubai isn’t just your conventional Ferris wheel, it’s the world's largest observation wheel with a lot of amazing high-tech features – no surprise, it’s Dubai!

Nestled on the Bluewaters Island, Ain Dubai has become a top destination for locals and tourists alike. On board the cabin, visitors are greeted with a majestic view of the high-rise structures of the Dubai Marina and the beautiful vast blue waters of the Arabian Gulf. A sight that always leaves many speechless.

For tourists or even locals who are looking to explore the city, a top destination to consider would be Ain Dubai. After being closed down 2 years ago for renovation, it’s set to open its doors to visitors again. Ain Dubai reopening presents an amazing opportunity for individuals to explore a more massive and enhanced observation wheel, an experience that promises to be nothing short of delightful!

Ain Dubai - The Majestic Dubai Eye Wheel

With a height of 820 ft(250m), Ain Dubai is the tallest observation wheel in the world. But what’s remarkable isn’t only in its height. The Ferris wheel offers 360-degree views of the Dubai skyline, going full circle and presenting guests with unprecedented narratives of the city. Its 48 high-tech cabins can accommodate more than 1,700 people.

Despite being built with over 11,000 tons of steel, the wheel can complete a rotation in a remarkable 38 minutes. Another jaw-dropping fact you should know? The Dubai Ain’s legs are 126 meters long, which is enough space to accommodate 15 London buses. Impressive right? Well, that’s not all. Ain Dubai is taller than the Singapore Flyer and the London Eye, and also sits 270 ft taller than the Las Vegas High Roller, previously considered the tallest observation wheel in the world.

The cabins of the Ain Dubai are well suited to cater to all kinds of guests and occasions. Some are dedicated to sightseeing, while others such as the party cabins serve special occasions, and eatery cabins are especially to enjoy exquisite dishes.

Ain Dubai presents guests with magnificent views of the Burj Khalifa, Palm Jumeirah, Burj Al Arab, and other landmarks that make it impossible to get a bird’s eye view from the ground or any other vantage point. It’s an incredible experience that’s highly recommended to both tourists and locals. If you have an adventurous spirit, Ain Dubai and other magnificent attractions in the glamorous city of Dubai are a must-visit.

Ain Dubai’s Closure and Reopening

After its launch in October 2021, the observation wheel began full operations but was closed a few months later, early into 2022. The reasons for closure were to improve safety measures, perform further technical checks, and ensure it was perfect to resume operations.

Ain Dubai’s reopening presents visitors with a chance to enjoy the newly enhanced high-tech cabins and amenities provided by the authorities, improving comfort and overall experience.

What’s New at the Park?

Since closure, the question everyone’s been asking is: “Is Ain Dubai open yet?” Worry no more as there’s already great news. Ain Dubai resumed its operations on December 26, 2024, after a soft launch on December 25 to mark the reopening of the world’s largest observation wheel.

Now that we’ve got Ain Dubai back, what are some new additions and updated features at the park to look out for:

  • Well-improved Cabins - The interiors of the cabin have been enhanced to give a more relaxing and luxurious touch, with improved seating and new touch screens for entertainment and more engaging visuals.
