Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Driver Requirements
To book your car, all you need is a credit or debit card. When you pick the car up, you’ll need:
- Our eVoucher that you have received with the confirmation of the rental..
- The main driver’s credit/debit card, with enough available funds for the car’s deposit.
- Each driver’s full, valid driving license, which they’ve held for at least 12 months (often 24).
- Your passport and any other ID the car hire company needs to see.
For most car rental companies, the age requirement is between 21 and 70 years old. If you’re under 30 or over 65, you might have to pay an additional fee.
Yes, most car rental companies will rent to a person between 21 and 70. However, each car rental company has its own age requirements. Please select your age when entering your rental criteria at the search engine. Untick the box that says 'Drivers Age At Rental Start: 30-65 and adds your age. Then we'll only show you cars that you can rent. If you're 21-29, you are likely to have to pay a young driver fee. Don't worry this fee, if any, is always included in our final prices.
NOTE: When comparing our prices with others, make sure you compare FINAL prices and not ones that purposely keep surcharges hidden away!
Yes, as long as they meet these requirements. Just fill in their details while you’re making the reservation.
Mileage, fuel & cross borders
If your rental does not include unlimited mileage, then the exact miles allowance is mentioned in the (Important Information section)
Once you pick up the car, the representative at the rental desk will advise you what fuel type is required for the car. Usually, there is an indication at the petrol cap as well.
Yes, most car rental companies will allow you to visit another country. However, each car rental company has its own cross border allowance which varies from company to company. If the selected offer doesn't mention the country that you wish to visit, then please select another offer on the car selection page.
Insurance and protection services
The included insurances and covers are displayed at the Important Information section, under the "Damage excess" paragraph.
Excess is the amount you are liable for in case of damage to the rented car (when Collision Damage Waiver protection is included in your booking).
The excess amount is mentioned in the (important information section).
Depending on the car hire company that will cover your rental, they can sell different kinds of additional cover, but the most common is Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW).
This SCDW policy could cover the following things:
- Cover parts of the car that aren’t covered by the company’s standard Collision Damage Waiver policy (windows and tyres, for example)
- Reduce the excess – reducing the maximum you would have to pay if you damaged something covered by the car’s protection
- Set the excess to zero, so you wouldn’t have to leave a deposit at pick-up – or pay anything for damage to something covered by the car’s protection.
Any extra coverage that is agreed to be added locally it has to be paid at the rental desk as an additional charge to the rental price indicated in the confirmation voucher.
In case of an accident, call the emergency number of the car rental company, which is indicated on the rental agreement, you got when you picked up the car. You’ll find the number on the rental agreement you signed when you picked up the car. The representative will advise you on what you have to do. Call the police to report the accident, once you return the car, an accident report will be created.
Payment, fees confirmation
Our website provides several currency choices from which you can select during the booking procedure.
Keep in mind that when you will pick up the car the 'Payable at Desk' amount will be in the local currency of your destination. This amount is displayed on your confirmation voucher.
Yes. When you pick-up the car, the representative will ask you to leave a deposit in case of Damage of the car during your rental. The deposit/guarantee amount will be temporarily blocked/charged on the credit card of the main driver and held for the duration of the rental.
Once you return the car back without damage, the deposit amount will be released/refunded to the credit card. The chargeback might take seven to 21 working days, depending on your bank.
If for any reason the main driver’s card does not have enough funds for the deposit, the representative might not give you the car or might offer you additional insurances/cover to waive the deposit/guarantee amount.
This is standard practice with all car rental companies.
The exact amount that you'll need to leave as a deposit varies depending on the vehicle and the car rental company. Details about the deposit can be found in the 'important information' section.
During the booking procedure on the options page after selecting the car please search for the link "important information" near the photo of each vehicle. Just click on it and review the "security deposit" paragraph for details related to the deposit..
The deposit/guarantee amount is required in order to cover any missing fuel, speeding/parking fines - or in case you return the car damaged, late or dirty.

If you change your booking in any way, it is likely that the price will change.
You can change the details of the main driver by visiting 'Manage Booking'. When you log in, please select modify details in the driver details section, then you can amend changes.

NOTE: Some car hire companies also have their own cancellation policy, which you’ll find on the Important information about your booking.
Pick Up & Drop Off
If you added your flight details to your booking, the car rental company will be able to track your flight and may hold the car for you for some time.
If your flight is delayed it is important to call the local car rental station using the contact number of the company displayed in your confirmation voucher as soon as possible.
Check the car. Walk around the car and look inside, checking for damage. If you find any, ask the car hire company agent to mark it on your rental agreement. Take pictures or video so you can be confident about what the car was like to start with. Check what fuel it takes. Open the cap to see if it’s petrol or diesel. Petrol might have ‘95’ on it. If you’re not sure which fuel the car takes, ask the agent before you leave. Look at the dashboard. Rental car fuel is usually provided on a ‘like to like’ basis, which means you start with a full tank and you return the car with a full tank. Turn the key to check the tank is full (and the headlights work). Sort your route. If your car has GPS, it’s worth setting it to your language before you head off. Take a moment. Once everyone’s safely strapped in, take a minute to adjust the mirrors, move the seat, find reverse and check where the indicators are. Look out for a petrol station. When you’re heading off, look out for a petrol station. It'll save any last-minute stress about filling the car up before you take it back.
In your confirmation voucher, the drop-off address of the car rental company is indicated as well as the exact meeting time. However, we strongly recommend you to arrange the drop-off details with the car rental representative at pick up.
Your car will probably be checked over when you return it, or there may be a box to drop the keys in if there is no one available.
We recommend keeping any paperwork you are given.
During the booking procedure please select the exact pick-up and drop-off hours of your rental. This way our system will give you only available cars from car rental companies that provide service the specified hours.
If your plans change after you book, you can change your pick-up and drop-off times through our customer page 'Manage Booking' in order to change the reservation.
NOTE: If any extra charge is applied for the out of operating times is always included in our final prices.
Yes, most of the car rental companies will allow you to have different pick-up and drop-off locations. On the search engine, we provide you with the option to "Return at another location". This will enable you to select one of the available return locations.
After Rental
When you pick up the car you will be charged for the rental amount indicated on your voucher at section 'Payable at the rental desk'.
However, you might decide to purchase extra equipment or upgrades locally (e.g. GPS or different car category). In these cases, the car rental company might charge you. Furthermore, if you choose to buy a cover at the counter when you pick up the car, our car rental partner will provide the cover and you will pay them directly.
After your rental period, our local car rental partner may charge you for refueling, parking tickets, fines, or damages to the vehicle. Keep in mind the representative should list any charges on the paperwork he/she gives you (although some fines and parking tickets might arrive later).
In case that you wish to drop the car off earlier than the confirmed pick up and drop off times, we will not refund any amount for the unused days; it is entirely up to the car rental company whether they decide to do so or not. This is because we will have committed to the whole booking on your behalf, and the car hire company will have been expecting the car to be used for the whole period. They will have planned their cars and parking needs around the original booking.
Know Your Insurance Coverage: Be sure to research the insurance coverage available on your current automobile policy, your credit card agreement, and your homeowners or renter's policy prior to picking up your rental car. This will help you make the most informed decision about optional coverages offered at the rental counter.
Inspect the Condition of Your Rental Car: Take a walk around your rental car with an agent before you leave the rental location. Be sure to make note of any scratches, dents, dings, etc. and report them so there is no confusion regarding the car’s condition upon return.
Get to Know the Features on Your Rental Car: Take a few minutes before you leave the rental location to familiarize yourself with where everything is on your rental car. Check the headlights, hazards, windshield wipers, door locks, spare tire, etc.
Look at a Map Before Leaving the Airport: Be sure to ask the agent at the rental counter for directions or a map of the area. Most rental car companies provide free maps as a courtesy.
Avoid Additional Charges at Drop-off: Be sure to return your rental car at the designated date and time on your rental agreement to avoid extra day and/or extra hour charges. If you do not opt to pre-purchase gas at the rental counter, be sure the gas tank is full upon return to avoid gas and re-fueling fees.
